Alum shines at Ironman Wisconsin

Congrats to XC/TF alum, Kevin Wright on his 2nd place finish at the Ironman Wisconsin!!!! Kevin finished the 140.6 mile long course in 9:14:52. He finished 1st in his age group (25-29) and 2nd overall...out of over 2800 competitors!

The Ironman Wisconsin course was located in Madison. The swim portion of the race took place in Lake Monona and was 2.4 miles long. Kevin finished his swim in 1:02:01 - 17th in his age group and 107th overall. The 112 mile bike course took the competitors about 16 miles out of the city and then had them complete 2 big loops before coming back to the capitol city. Kevin finished 5th in his age group and 13th overall with his time of 5:11:36. Kevin's most impressive (not that the first 114.4 miles of the race weren't impressive!) part of the day was the run. The run took the competitors through the downtown capitol city and past Camp Randall (home of the Wisconsin Badgers football team). The run was 26.2 miles - Kevin finished with one of THE fastest times. He ran the marathon-length course in 2:51:40 - the fastest time in his age group!

It was an impressive day for Kevin - it's such a huge accomplishment. We are all so proud of you! Congrats on an amazing race, Kevin!!
