Fundraising In the Rain

Yesterday a handful of our track & field athletes spent the day at Deep Creek State Park helping at the SavageMan 70 Triathlon. It was a long, rainy and muddy day of fundraising. They spent the day directing runners on the course or handing out water, Gatorade, fruit, etc. The competitors were some of the nicest, supportive and passionate athletes you will ever meet - switching between thanking the volunteers as they run past and asking why there are so many hills. One of the women in charge was so happy to have us help again and she is already planning on having us back next year.

The fundraiser was a great way to earn some money for our XC and Track & Field teams, but it was also an opportunity for some of our new athletes to meet some of the returners. Thank you to those that helped at the triathlon - hopefully they enjoyed the experience.
