Romano and Whitley Lead Varsity Men at Desales University

The Men's Cross Country team split their squad between varsity and junior varsity to compete as two full teams at, arguably, the most difficult competition so far this season. Not only did this meet contain the largest field of competitors the Bobcats have faced this year, but the course itself was also very challenging with over half the course being an uphill climb. As a whole, the men's team placed 17th with 523 points, putting them right in the middle of the CAC teams also competing in that race.

Robbie Romano once again paced the Bobcats to be the top scorer on the team, placing 58th out of 250 contenders, in a time of 27:25. This places Romano at 5:31 mile pace for the race. Matt Whitley stepped up to finish second at DeSales in 100th place, passing the finish line at 28:27.

Only thirty-two seconds behind Whitley was Jake Rickards taking 122nd in the meet. He ran the race in 28:59 to secure his third place spot for the team. Tom Burklow was the next finisher for Frostburg State, with a time of 29:07 and 127th overall. Xavier Alvarez, then finished close behind in 129th with a time of 29:25 to be the varsity men's final point scorer.

Closing out for the varsity men were Lorenzo Wilson and Tim Wolodkin whose races both helped solidify the team's finish by impacting the scores of all other teams. Wilson finished the race in 29:59, while Wolodkin ran through the line in 30:01. These two placed 141st and 142nd, respectively.

This was an integral race for Frostburg, as DeSales University will be the site of the NCAA Mideast Regional Meet later in the season. These times will be just one factor that goes into deciding who will be competing at the regional meet.
