Men Take 5th at Championship
Yesterday the men's XC team competed at the CAC Championships in Hershey, PA. The course was one of the tougher courses this season, with a couple of steep hills. The nice thing (or maybe not) for the runners was in certain spots they could smell chocolate...not so nice was the sewage treatment plant right at the bottom of the steep downhill. In spite of all that, the men's team took 5th place with 156 points. Last year's team finished 7th out of 10 teams, with 204 points.
Top Team: For the second year, CNU took home the team title. They claimed the title with 16 points - 37 points ahead of second place, York College.
Individual winner: Grayson Reid of CNU won the individual title for the second year in a row. He covered the 8k course with a time of 25:59.0.
Top Bobcat: Robbie Romano was the first Frostburg State runner to cross the line. He placed 38 out of 127 runners with a time of 28:10.7.
Remaining Top Seven: Timmy Wolodkin followed 25 seconds after Robbie with a time of 28:35.1. Timmy was 50th overall - running one of his best races all season. Xavier Alvarez and Jacob Rickards crossed the line nearly side-by-side, finishing 62nd and 63rd respectively. Xavier ran the course in 28:56.0 and Jacob in 28:56.6. Matthew Whitely was FSU's fifth finisher, capturing 69th place with a time of 29:10.1. Rounding out the top-7 were Brady Dumonchelle and Lorenzo Wilson. Brady finished 74th overall with a time of 29:27.3, while Lorenzo was 88th with a time of 29:52.4.
